Player Evaluations

Balanced team evaluations are held to determine the best team placement for each athlete. As a recreational organization, we want the players to have fun and learn the fundamentals. Skill, experience, athleticism, and attitude are the essentials to determining team assignments.
ALL registered players will be placed on a team.

We have  teams at the A  level for grade groups 7-8, 5-6 and 3-4.  The league will decide if an A team is entered in each level.  Boys trying out for the A or AA level of these teams should be committed to making lacrosse their priority sport during the spring. Boys who are unsure of their commitment to lacrosse or who play a second sport should make this known to the Boys Program Director at the time of registration as these boys are encouraged to try-out for an B or C level team.  A key component for the B and C level teams is equal playing time.

USA Lacrosse

USA Lacrosse is the national governing body of men and women's lacrosse in the United States. It provides a leadership role in virtually every aspect of the game and has more than 450,000 members throughout the United States, and offers programs and services to inspire participation while protecting the integrity of the sport.

Wilmington Wings requires  that your athlete is a registered USA Lacrosse member with an active USA Lacrosse number. We use it for insurance for all of our players. It is a great source of information for our players and families on the game of lacrosse.  It is good for a year, most camps or teams require it to participate.
